and the body"

In this post, second in the series on the benefits of breathwork, I explore the emotional and mental benefits of Transformational breath®.

Emotional and Mental benefits on a chalkboard

Introduction

There are a wide range of emotional and mental benefits with conscious connect breathwork like Transformational Breath®, such as:

  • Reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety
  • Releases and integrates trauma stored in your body and subconscious
  • Clears patterns of self-sabotage and negative self-talk
  • Regulates your emotions
  • Improves mental clarity & focus
  • Enhances your self-esteem

Before going into these benefits in detail, it's important to understand how Transformational breath® makes this happen.

In the previous blog, Inhale, Exhale, Feel Alive! The Physical Benefits of Breathwork, I discussed the physical benefits. A key one is opening the breath and breathing more freely in a conscious, connected way which enables access to the emotional and mental release. You don't have to have a perfect breath to make this possible, but it's helpful for you to understand what the ideal or optimal breath is.

The optimal breath...

The perfect open connected breath is like a wave. First, the abdomen goes up, then the midsection, then the chest; the chest then goes down, followed by the midsection and abdomen. The entire respiratory system is in flow in the open connected Breath...

When you breathe in this activated way, the energy circulating in the body makes something very special happen. Stuck patterns, such as repressed feelings, memories, and thoughts, are permanently transformed and integrated. These can include birth trauma, other lifetime traumas, authority and parental issues, self-sabotage patterns, and any other negativity in the subconscious.

Let's now explore these benefits in more detail:

Releasing anxiety

1. Reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety:

Transformational breath® can provide a safe space for emotional release and healing. By engaging in breathwork, your suppressed emotions can surface, allowing their expression and release. This process can lead you to greater emotional freedom, a sense of peace, and a decrease in symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Releasing trauma

2. Releases and integrates trauma stored in your body and
subconscious:

Breathwork can access trapped deep-seated emotions and suppressed traumas held in your body accumulated over a lifetime. Accessing these suppressed emotions through Transformational breath® can help you release these trapped energies, facilitating healing and integration of trauma.

Transforming I can't into I can

3. Clears patterns of self-sabotage and negative self-talk:

By cultivating a deep awareness of the breath, you can witness and release patterns, emotions, and beliefs that no longer serve you. This breathwork creates space for new possibilities and transformation, clearing patterns of self-sabotage and negative self-talk.

Expressing emotions healthily

4. Regulates your emotions:

Transformational breathing techniques can activate your parasympathetic nervous system, which triggers your body's relaxation response. This practice helps regulate your emotions and reduce your stress, anxiety, and tension.

Clarity and focus

5. Improves mental clarity & focus:

The increased oxygenation and improved circulation in your body resulting from Transformational Breath® can enhance your mental clarity, focus, and cognitive function. This breathwork can lead to improved decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Stepping into self-esteem

6. Enhances your self-esteem:

As you release emotional blockages and gain insight into your patterns and behaviours, you can often experience increased self-esteem. The process of conscious connected breathwork can lead to a sense of emotional release, gratitude, and self-appreciation

Conclusion

Transformational Breath® can significantly improve your emotional and mental wellbeing in many ways.

Moreover, Transformational Breath® can be a powerful tool in reducing stress, promoting relaxation, and fostering self-awareness, all of which are essential for personal growth and mental health.
